Amanda and Dan’s Wedding: August 14, 2010

August 14 was a really spectacular day. I woke up, did some last minute wedding preparations, took Peg out for coffee at Monkey Joe’s, and then we took our coffees for a walk at the Kingston Farmer’s Market. It was a really nice and relaxing morning. I needed to leave Kingston for Mt. Tremper at 1:00 so I had plenty of time. By the time I got to Mt. Tremper the staff at The Emerson Resort and Spa were getting everything ready for Amanda and Dan’s wedding. The Emerson, if you have never been there, is a magnificent venue for a wedding. It’s located in the Catskill Mountains and surrounded by unparalleled natural beauty (including the Esopus Creek that meanders through the back). The layout is perfect for summer weddings and is certainly worth checking out if you are planning a wedding in the near future.

You may recognize Amanda and Dan from the engagement session I did with them in the early summer. I had a great time getting to know them better then and it really made for better pictures at their wedding. Amanda and Dan are really awesome people and it’s not surprising when you spend a little time with their families. I was honored to get the chance to spend this very special day with them.

What I love about wedding and portrait photography is that I am able to create portraits that hold immense personal meaning which will last longer than we will.
