Once Rebecca and Russ told me of their plans to have their wedding at the Green Building in Brooklyn, NY, and I had a chance to research it a bit, I was super excited for it! They originally had plans to get married on Russ’ family farm (Davenport Farms) although they changed their minds in the planning process and ultimately decided to get married where they currently reside, Brooklyn. The Green Building is a super cool versatile event venue that was converted from a brass foundry in 2008. It has the most beautiful worn brick walls that make a gorgeous backdrop for modern weddings.
Rebecca and Russ’ wedding was simply stunning. The decor included magenta and sparkly gold accents and sophisticated details that made for a remarkable backdrop to what was a really beautiful day. After getting some great shots in and around the Green Building itself, Russ and Rebecca had their first look out in the courtyard. Next up was a limo ride with the family and wedding party to DUMBO for some more photos. With it being Friday evening at rush hour, we literally had to “rush” to make the most of our time out and about in Brooklyn. I was able to quickly get some cool shots with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. Back at the Green Building, the ceremony took place right in the middle of the event space, which was quickly turned around to be the reception space. The first dance, speeches, dinner and change of bridal dress gave way to some very spirited dancing and photo booth fun. The wedding cake was among the most delicious I’ve ever eaten and had the distinction of being bright pink and champagne flavored! Later in the evening, Rebecca and Russ surprised their guests with a curbside visit from a crepe truck. The evening closed with guests bidding the newlyweds farewell with a confetti toss before being whisked away together in a taxi.
