Jessica and Kyle: Engagement Session

Jessica and Kyle were referred to me by my (now) friends Nicole and Brendon whose wedding was the first one that I ever photographed (which was about 6 years ago). It is always quite an honor to be referred by someone and it’s even more of an honor considering that their wedding was the first one that I ever photographed! Jessica suggested that we have the session at the Saugerties Lighthouse and I thought that was a great idea. I have been to the lighthouse many times in the past and it is very uniquely Hudson River/Saugerties. I really enjoyed walking out to the lighthouse with Jessica and Kyle and getting to know them a bit better. When we finally got out to the lighthouse we started taking pictures and I had a great time! Jessica and Kyle were telling me all about their wedding plans and it seems everything is already in order and I’m guessing they could probably have their wedding tomorrow if they could get all of their friends and family here… Jessica is meticulous about planning (which is a fantastic trait to have!).

Jessica is also involved in an upcoming art show in Saugerties which will open in July. The show involves artist interpretations of the Saugerties Lighthouse! Wow, how cool is that??? I think the fact that Jessica is so involved in this show that it really gives these pictures a bit more meaning.

What I love about wedding and portrait photography is that I am able to create portraits that hold immense personal meaning which will last longer than we will.
