I had such a great time photographing and spending time with Karen and Ablen during their engagement session that I knew I was going to have a great time at their wedding. I love it when I’m right 🙂
Karen and Ablen’s wedding was a terrific day. They were getting married in Southern Columbia County, which coincidentally, is one of my favorite areas. The weather was warm and sunny and the leaves were just beginning to change color. The day got off to a bit of a rocky start for Karen because her car wouldn’t start. Luckily, she was able to get a ride. Everyone took it in stride and I’m sure they will laugh about it in years to come. After the ceremony we took some formal photos and Karen, Ablen, and I took an all-terrain yard utility vehicle down the property a bit to the river that meanders through the back of the property. It was so fun! I want one for my yard (Peg thinks it may be overkill for our .25 acres)! Music is very important to both Karen and Ablen’s families and they had a wonderful band playing that was accompanied by both Karen and Ablen’s fathers (at different times). The music was really fantastic. I think the highlight of the wedding for me was when Ablen serenaded Karen and the rest of the wedding guests with his version of “Shining Star” by the Manhattans. It was awesome!!!
