I have said it before and I will say it again: I love doing engagement shoots! If you are currently looking at photographers for your wedding, please, please, please inquire about getting an engagement shoot done. It is such a great way for the photographer to get to know their clients better and to get some experience working with them before the big day. Not only will you get some informal professional pictures of yourselves (which is reason to get the shoot done in and of itself) but your wedding pictures will be leaps and bounds better as well. I absolutely guarantee it. If you cannot afford an engagement shoot, let your photographer know. Perhaps you can work something out. They are too important not to do! Ok, ok, enough of my rant.
I recently had the privilege of working with Kristy and Matt for their engagement session. After much consideration and deliberation they decided that they’d like to have it done at Poet’s Walk outside of Rhinebeck, NY. I’ve been to Poet’s Walk numerous times and thought it was a great idea! I really enjoyed walking around with them and taking lots of pictures. They are super nice and had spent the previous day making all sorts of wedding plans. It was really nice to see them so excited for their wedding. They kept whispering “I love you ” to each other… it was so cute! It was a beautiful thing to see the love that Kristy and Matt share.
Oh and on a side note, right before the shoot I remembered that Poet’s Walk is actually where my sister Cheryl and my now brother-in-law Tim got engaged about four years ago. It was fitting that I was now photographing an engagement session there 🙂
