What an extraordinarily busy month it’s been! Starting with Nicole and Robert’s ceremony, I have been photographing both weddings and commercial jobs non-stop. I am just now finding a little breathing room to be able to transition from shooting, editing, and retouching photos to blogging and posting images from all of the jobs I have been fortunate enough to shoot! I am so excited about how busy I’ve been, and I think the quality of my work keeps getting better and better!
Nicole and Robert’s wedding ceremony was held at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Poughkeepsise, NY. Although this was my first time photographing a wedding at this church, I had been there previously while exploring the area. The chapel itself is set in the middle of an abandoned NYS psychiatric hospital. While driving through the hospital campus to the chapel, one might dismiss it as a location for a wedding because of the abandoned buildings and grounds surrounding it. Don’t judge a book by its cover, though! The chapel and grounds around it are an absolutely fabulous location for a wedding! Not only is the chapel steeped in history, it is also stunningly beautiful. Immediately following the ceremony, it started to rain a little, but that didn’t prevent us from doing some shooting outside.
Nicole and Robert’s reception was at Hillside Manor in Kingston, NY. Their reception was lovely and filled with many speeches in both English and Chinese. It was a beautiful wedding to participate in.
