Rachel and Patrick’s Wedding: May 22, 2010

I was quite excited to be a part of Rachel and Patrick’s wedding mostly because they are such nice people. I had a great time meeting and getting to know them better at their engagement session and I knew their wedding would be very special. It was a late morning wedding and I had to be in Newburgh at 7:30 for the preparation pictures. I am a morning person anyway and I absolutely love driving on the NYS Thruway when it’s completely empty. I had a great time heading down there listening to Gillian Welch. They were married in the Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Plattekill, NY. They wanted their formal pictures taken by the pond in their yard which was only about 1 mile away. This location worked out perfectly! I absolutely love their willow trees! They temporarily moved their goats so I did not have to worry about them eating my camera equipment (which they tried to do during the engagement session!). Their reception was at Anthony’s Pier 9 in Newburgh, NY. It was a really great day. I left inspired.

What I love about wedding and portrait photography is that I am able to create portraits that hold immense personal meaning which will last longer than we will.
