Lucy and John planned the loveliest wedding at Lucy’s mom’s house in Rhinebeck, New York. Lucy is a super talented comic artist and created lots of totally rad DIY details for her wedding. She drew the most amazing table setting diagram (see below) that is probably the best thing I will see for a while. On top of being ridiculously talented, both Lucy and John are the sweetest people and I really enjoyed documenting their wedding! The weather forecast for the day was sadly not looking to be the driest of days and in fact it ended up literally raining all day long. But I know for a fact that it rains on the very best of wedding days (my own wedding was fairly wet as well). During their preparation everyone kept a close eye on Doplar radar and the sky outside although once the showers began, they didn’t subside until the midnight bonfire.
Lucy and John had Jeanne Stark from Hudson Valley Ceremonies coordinate their wedding. It’s always awesome to work with Jeanne because she has a tremendous amount of experience and every wedding I work with her is better than the last. It is definitely worth checking out her services if you are planning a Hudson Valley wedding in the near future.
Despite the less than ideal weather, Lucy and John and their guests toasted, danced and celebrated the night away. It was definitely one of the best backyard weddings I have ever photographed!
