Have you ever been to a wedding that had a docile cow in attendance that was available for petting? WELL I HAVE! Whitney and Sam’s Ankony Carriage House wedding had a whole host of amazing details, but the attendance of a cow was certainly a cool (& totally welcome!) first for me. I had not met Whitney & Sam until a few days before their wedding when I made a site visit to get a lay of the land. And by land, I mean one of the most gorgeous Hudson River view properties I have ever seen. The beautiful outdoor space seemed quite an appropriate wedding site for Whitney & Sam, as they are avid adventurers. Their love of skiing and all things outdoorsy is one of the things that drew them together.
From the beautiful and heartfelt ceremony to the reception, this wedding was a pleasure. We had a few great options for photo locations and I really loved walking around with Whitney and Sam after their ceremony and snapping away. It’s not every day that you capture a wedding couple in a portrait with some adorable cows! The reception notably featured really awesome (and somewhat interactive) on-site bbq catering and kicked off with an upbeat and talented band that kept the dancing going all night long.

When thinking about our wedding my husband and I picked out a few things that were “key items”…things we wanted to make sure we got the best and a photographer was one. We looked though many portfolios online and contacted different people however when we came across Peter’s photos we were done looking!! All of his photos were beautiful and conveyed the same feel that we wanted- kind of a rustic, country chic. Since we were from out of town we did not meet Peter until a few days before the wedding when came out to look at our wedding location. The second we met him in person we again knew we had made the right choice. He spent hours hanging out with my family and walking around scoping out the property and different potential photo areas. I honestly wish we lived closer so we could hang out with him and his wife Peggy on a regular basis!! They are both so laid back and easy going. On the day of the wedding they did a fantastic job!! They were so sweet and helpful and accommodating when we (I) decided at the last minute I wanted a certain type of photo or a specific location. The locations he picked out were beautiful and I am so happy to have the photos to remember the day. Peter is highly highly recommended…looking back we would definitely hire him again!! Thanks again for making our wedding day so special 🙂
