Wedding at Oak Hill

Amanda & Stefan were married on a gorgeous Saturday in September. I may be biased, but I truly believe that the Hudson Valley is perfection when it comes to weddings. Their wedding at Oak Hill in Hudson was no exception. The bride and groom occupied the beautiful and charming Route 66 Farmhouse in Hudson for the weekend and this is where I began my day with them as they prepped with their close friends and family. We orchestrated a first look on the grounds of the farmhouse and took the opportunity for some great portraits before heading to Oak Hill for their outdoor ceremony overlooking the Hudson River and later, family and wedding party photos on the grounds and reception in the barn. Every detail from flowers and decorative elements, to food and music came together to make this a really beautiful and memorable event. In addition to documenting their wedding, I was also asked to provide photo booth services, which is always a great enhancement to a Hudson Valley wedding.

Uptown Kingston New York Engagement Photos

I have been excited to photograph Jaime and Elyse since they hired me to document their wedding. I was super happy that they decided to also do an engagement session with me in one of my favorite places… Uptown Kingston! I live in Uptown Kingston and it’s like the best place ever. Right before their engagement session started, we met for drinks at one of my favorite uptown establishments, Boitson’s Restaurant. We sat on the back deck, sipped prosecco, and got to know each other better. It was a lot of fun and I almost forgot we had to start taking pictures before the sun went down!

I remember when Jaime and Elyse first Skyped with me their cat photobombed us a couple of times. It was really cute and I thought that it was very fitting that during the shoot another cat decided to photobomb us. I just kept snapping away. It was a ton of fun walking around Uptown Kingston and getting to document these lovely people!

Roundhouse Beacon Wedding Celebration

Julie and Greg got married at the Roundhouse in Beacon on a beautiful day in August. To simply say that Julie and Greg are some of the nicest and most fun people I have ever worked with would be an understatement. Their engagement session a few months prior sold me on how nice they were as we were getting to know one another, but the fun element was evident from start to finish on their wedding day! The good spirits and cheer of everyone involved in the wedding was awesome not only to be around, but also to capture in photos.

And if my childhood dream ever materializes and I start a band, Greg will 100% be my cow bell player 🙂

Hudson Valley Family Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca and Jose a few years ago when they were looking for a wedding photographer. Unfortunately, circumstances prevented us from working together at that time. Luckily, our paths crossed again when they were in search for a Hudson Valley family photographer to capture some photos of them with their exceptionally cute baby, Lorenzo. They live in a lovely house in Wallkill that they have tirelessly renovated and restored. The grounds of their property were beautiful and provided a great natural backdrop for photos with this sweet family. Baby Lorenzo (or Chachi as they fondly call him) was quite a gentleman and was a blast to watch roll around and smile for his parents.

Full Moon Resort Wedding

A Full Moon Resort Wedding is an experience that I have had the pleasure of photographing several times. Even better is actually having your own wedding there, which I did! It is such a beautiful place and I am always happy to return and relive my own wedding in a small way by enjoying the magic of Full Moon with other people.

Cheryl and Charlie are a lovely couple that I got to spend the day documenting. Their wedding day ironically had similar ~~unfortunate~~ weather as my own wedding. Not only could I empathize for the changes in plans that had to take place, but I had a good understanding of where to take photos that still honored the beauty of the landscape despite the weather. The rain moved their outdoor creekside ceremony to an indoor location, and luckily for them (and also for me and my wife!), marriages can occur just fine under a tent! Cheryl and Charlie’s ceremony was among the most beautiful I’ve witnessed, complete with touching vows and an engaging officiant (the bride’s brother.) After the ceremony, the weather cleared up enough for us to walk around and take some candid photos in the natural beauty that is the Catskills. Dinner and toasts gave way to lots and lots of dancing, all while my cameras and I unobtrusively snapped the night away.

I could not have been happier with choosing Peter as our photographer! He was always prompt with any questions/requests via email prior to the wedding. You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day (more than most guests) so you want someone to make you feel comfortable. Peter is super easy to get along with and his wife Peg, who is his assistant, was also so friendly and calming. They didn’t feel like awkward strangers with us on our day. During the wedding Peter took 1000s of shots which were beautiful and truly captured every moment of the day without ever feeling an overbearing presence of a photographer. Peter sent me the entire portfolio within 10 days of the wedding and we have gotten rave reviews of the quality. It was so important to us to have nature based photos and it is what Peter does best. I highly recommend Peter and could not be happier with what we got!
